本年度の神道エッセイ・コンテストには、6ヶ国(アメリカ、インド、カナダ、ドイツ、イギリス、ウルグアイ)より10編の応募がありました。テーマが興味深かったためか、前年度より応募人数が増えました。
応募論文は神道国際学会役員8名（日本、ノルウェー、ドイツ、イギリス、アメリカ）による厳選なる審査の結果、入賞者は下記の通りと決定しました。各受賞者には、一等・賞金1,000米ドル、二等・賞金500米ドル、三等・賞金300米ドル、奨励・賞金100米ドルが贈られることになります。
また、2008年のエッセイコンテストにつきましては、詳細が決まり次第、ホームページ上にてお知らせいたします。 |

2007年の出題テーマは以下の通りでした。
1. Comparing Shinto
myths and other myths.
(We look forward to essays comparing Greek and other myths
with those found in the Kojiki and Nihonshoki.)
2. Defining features
of monotheism and polytheism.
(Students’ essays should seek to highlight what sets monotheistic
creeds and their practices apart from polytheism.)
3. The spirit
of Shinto and the martial arts.
(We invite critical reflections on places of Shinto, its
symbols and practices in the field of martial arts.)
