Activities Summary of the International Shinto Foundation in 1999

1999 January Inspected the situation of Shinto studies in Russia.
April Sounded out the establishment of Shinto Chair in the National University in France.
April Started a Shinto study class "Ashikabi" at the office of the ISF headquarters.
June Noh performances in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and UN Headquarters (co-sponsored with the International Foundation for Arts and Culture).
August Donated "Shinto Taikei" to Oslo University, Norway.
November Held a general meeting of ISF members, and the Shinto seminar "Health and Spiritualism", commemorating the fifth anniversary of the founding of the ISF.
November Sponsored the third Shinto Essay Competition.
December Secretary General and trustees from the ISF participate in an international symposium in commemoration of its establishment of the Center for the Study of Japanese religions (CSJR) at SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies) of the University of London, to which the ISF made a monetary contribution.
