Activities Summary of the International Shinto Foundation in 1996

1996	January	Celebrated a Shinto ceremony commemorating the setting up of the New York Center of the International Shinto Foundation, and at the same time held a colloquium "Shinto and the Culture of Peace".
	August	Held the Third International Symposium, "Shape of Religion in the 21st Century --- In Search of World Co-existence" at the United Nations University in Tokyo.
	August	Accepted as a non-profit organization in New York State, U.S.
	August	Sponsored the first Shinto Essay Competition.
	November	Held a workshop "Shinto and the Environment" at the Church Center for the U.N. and a second workshop "Science, Technology, Society, and Shintoism" at the Asia Society in commemorating of acceptance as a non-profit organization.
