Shinto Wedding Ceremony, October 14th, 2004
On 14th of October, ISF/NY performed their first formal Japanese wedding ceremony at the Interfaith Center of New York .

The groom, Mr. Keith Pankratz and his bride, Ms. Jessica LeDuc were united in a Shinto wedding blessing ceremony performed by Rev. Mitsutaka Inui of ISF/NY. As is the Shinto custom, we provided them a memento of a Ise talisman and a pair of rice bowls. Mrs. Pankratz, the groom's mother, who is Japanese, advised us that just 30 years ago, they (the parents) were married in a Shinto ceremony at a Shinto Shrine in Japan. Therefore they wished for and were delighted that ISF was able to provide a Shinto ceremony for their son and his bride. In addition to both parents and a few friends of the wedding couple, we were most appreciative of our volunteers, Ms. Tomoko Kamada as MC, Ms. Terumi Fukushima and Ms. Chika Inagawa as Miko (Maidens) and Ms. Junko Inui as koto player for the ceremony.
