Our new officer ---2007
Hello Everyone,

My name is Nobuyo Otagaki and I am the new International Shinto Foundation Officer for New York City. It is both an honor and my pleasure to play such a large role in bringing Shinto and Japanese culture to the city of New York.

In the past, I have served in Hyogo prefecture’s Amagasaki Ebisu shrine as a priestess. I also lived in China while working as a flight attendant for a foreign airline. While living outside of Japan, I rediscovered the beauty of my country and as such, felt compelled to become a Shinto priestess.

I believe that as the world gets smaller due to globalization, it will be harder and harder for both natives and foreigners throughout the world to identify with Japanese culture. It is for this reason, I would like to promote Japanese tradition and Shinto through working with the International Shinto Foundation. While doing so, I hope to gain your support and cooperation, so together we can truly achieve such an important goal.
