Shinto Lecture at Japan Society -- August 2004

   On August 10th, the Education Department of the Japan Society, invited ISF to participate in their Japanese Cultural Program. Rev. Mitsutake Inui, Chief Officer of ISF/NY gave a lecture on the meaning of “Shinto” to 30 New York City high school teachers. They had many questions, especially Shinto’s after death philosophy.
       

   Continuing with the ISF Japan Society cooperative program, on August 23rd, about 20 high school students visited ISF/NY for a one-hour lecture on Shinto. The lecture will be included in a published report as a guide book for teens entitled “Discovering Japan in NY” which was presented at the Japan Society on August 26th and should be available on their website in November, 2004. http://www.japansociety.org.
