Result of Shinto Essay Competition 2009
Sponsored by the Shinto Kokusai Gakkai
(Announced on October 2009)

13 contributors (4 from USA, 2 from India, 2 from
Japan, 2 from Romania, 1 from Chile, 1 from Russia, and 1 from
UK) participated the Shinto Essay Competition 2009. The number
of entrants increased this year, perhaps due to the fact that
the designated essay topics seemed to be interesting to deal
with Their essays were carefully read and evaluated by 9 jurors
of different nationalities from Congo, France, Germany, Japan,
UK and USA who are distinguished scholars in Japanese cultural
studies. We are pleased to announce the result of their judgments
as follows. In accordance with the judgment points we have decided
to honor the good essays by 1st prize, 2nd prize, 3rd prize,
and two encouraging awards. We regret to mention that two entrants
made clear plagiarism in their essays which is not acceptable.
All the essays belong to and the awarded ones will be published
by the International Shinto Foundation, Inc. in due time.
